The Pancake day fun time was enjoyed by the chidren as part of the Step Into activities.
This year there were hot dogs and many other activities for the children to enjoy.
There was a good atmosphere and the children enjoyed the activities.

There has been a long tradition of running a children's Good Friday workshop and 2012 proved to be another great success.
We started off the afternoon with the ubiquitous chocolate hunt which was, as always, a bit hit.
We followed this with a 'sad journey' as we followed a short children's Stations of the Cross and collected love hearts at each station.
The hearts were brought back to the centre and stuck on to a large white cross as the Easter Story was read to the wrapt children.
There then followed free time to engage in various arts and craft activities as well as the hugely popular making of the 'Garden of Gethsemane'.
The time flew by and it wasn't long before there was an opportunity to receive yet more chocolate.
The workshop was followed by tea and hot cross buns as well as crispy chocolate cornflake cakes! Not a day for a diet!
Thanks must go to all the Mums, Dads and carers who helped out and supplied various goodies. Special thanks also to Brian McGinnis for supplying all the flowers and components for the Garden of Gethsamene. The workshop would not be the same without it.

What a lovely day we had....
The sun was shining, we had a picnic under the tree, followed by Alison's creative 'Walking in the Footsteps of Christ' mural, as well as the usual card making, crafts and the ever popular 'Easter Garden'. (Many thanks to Brian for providing the supplies!)

In the words on one attendee...
"I enjoyed the afternoon and the weather was lovely. Even though I knew the Easter story well Alison's 'walking in Jesus' footsteps' was really fun and it really helped me. (I still have paint in my toenails)! Yuck! The garden was really pretty and I hope everyone enjoyed the day!"
Sunday School will be back next Sunday, 1st May and we will issue a timetable for the term shortly.

Mike Bloss has come up trumps again and written a great new Christmas Play, "A Journey at Christmas?" which the children will perform in church on 12th December.
We will be auditioning for parts when we get back on Sunday 7th November.
Don't forget to return your Samaritan's Purse shoe boxes to church after half term. Again, it woud be good to receive these back on 7th November.
Mother's Prayers is moving to a new slot of the first Monday of the month, starting this Monday 1st November.
Everyone who has experienced Mother's Prayers will testify to the oasis and sanctuary which it provides in a frenetic world. We've witnessed many prayers answered (not just for our children) and received much peace in the process.
Our Mother's Prayers group extends to all parents and carers, and over the years, we have been joined by Father's and those who have children in their care.
Come and join us. Email Fay at F.Westray@sky.com for more information.
