Receive Christ As ChildrenPosted by aufenast_tony@yahoo.com Sat, March 04, 2017 15:07:36
I like Lent because it reminds me to spend time reading the Bible, especially the passages leading up to Jesus death on cross. Some times when I am busy, I rely too much on internet posts for Godly nourishment, so it is good to return to the written word.

I enjoy getting lost in time of worship and I often feel close to God during that time but the most important time is to spend quality time with his word, in the quietness of his presence.

Thank you Lord we can worship you in both song and in your written word.

If you are looking for Bible passages to guide you through the five different ways off receiving/encountering Christ, try the following: 1) John 1 verses 1-14; 2) James 2 verses 1-4 and 14-17; 3) 1 Corinthians 11 verses 23-28; 4) 1 Peter 5 verses 1-11. 5) Revelation 21 verses 1-5. The five are not, of course, separate. They flow into each other> We receive Christ as Children of God. We receive Christ in the Stranger and Needy. We r3eceive Christ in Holy Communion. We receive Christ through Prayer and Fellowship. We receive Christ in ourselves, and therefore in each other.
